A new discovery is the Just Grapefruit Soap from Arran Aromatics in Scotland. I probably don't need to tell you that this soap gives off a wonderful aroma of grapefruit, but it does. As the manufacturer puts it, 'fresh and zesty'. It is also very handy to hold - in your hand (geddit) - and you can obtain 10 bars for under a tenner, postage included. It has two additional advantages.
First, one of the ordinary risks of the daily bath or shower is finding yourself in the same place on each occasion (I'm assuming that, like most sensible people, you're at home), going through the routines of cleansing your bodily bodster. The sameness can sometimes get dull. But with the Just Grapefruit bar, you will feel yourself in the middle of an orchard, or possibly grove. It brings a feeling, as well as a fragrance, of change. Second, while I discourage my readers from taking a bite out of their soaps, those who are on statins and needing to avoid this particular fruit can be reminded of what it was like when they were able to eat it.
