He's having a go, his latest, at the failures of British journalism, and he's targeting, in particular, the delinquencies he perceives at the Guardian... when he comes out with this:
In the week the Guardian published its "exclusive" about Iran, General Sir David Richards, Britain's highly political military chief, went on a secret visit to Israel, a genuine nuclear weapons outlaw that is exempt from media opprobrium.
He can say 'exempt from media opprobrium' about Israel with the Guardian fresh in his mouth? Is that the same Guardian I've been reading these past years? And, Guardian or no, Israel, of all the countries of the world, free of media opprobrium?
The 'he' to whom I refer is John Pilger. Could he be trying to practise what he laments?
