One of my ambitions in this series is to cover the totality of the Momma 'n' Daddy experience. It's a tall order, I know; but, then, this is a robust and long-running series. What I bring you today isn't a Momma 'n' Daddy song as such. It does, however, have one verse containing a good lesson, so I'm featuring it for that reason. The song is Townes Van Zandt's 'No Lonesome Tune' and this is the verse I mean:
My daddy said to me
"Son, it's hard, as you will see
To find someone upon whom to rely"
In the kitchen Mama sneezed
And he grinned big as you please
Said "bless you" and a tear come to his eye
The lesson? As you go through life, from time to time you may well recall bits of wisdom passed on to you by your mom or your dad. Here's Townes:
