I'm familiar with the claim that there is evidence for the existence of God; and I'm familiar with the idea that it's not about evidence, it's about faith. But I must confess that this one is new to me:
A god whose existence you can prove is a god to whom you cannot pray, postmodern theology argues, and prayer - not proof - is where religion rises or falls.
That seems to say evidence would be positively unwelcome. It strikes me as a rather convenient proposition.
