The Oval Test is under way and I'll have cricket on my mind for the next few days. Please bear with me.
I still have copies of these two Ashes books, which you can have for the price of the postage if you're interested. Ashes '97: Two Views from the Boundary was written with my friend Ian Holliday, who was supporting England while I... wasn't. Wisden 1998 said: 'they experienced every day of the summer as spectators, and I have a curious feeling that this book will weather well as a social document of cricket-watching.'
The other book is Men of Waugh: Ashes 2001. A reviewer in The Independent wrote of it: '[T]he author gives his usual, dry insight to life for the die-hard supporter... prompts debate almost with each turn of a page... This is the voice of a real fan and it is worth listening to.'
If you want a copy of either or both, just give me a shout.
