Shining Jane again

John Carey reviews Claire Harman's new book on the vicissitudes of Jane Austen's reputation. He reports a remark of Lord David Cecil's: that those who don't like her are the sort of people who 'do not like sunshine or unselfishness'. Not strictly true, perhaps, but you've got to wonder.
