Rahm Emanuel? I have to confess that I didn't know his name until Obama appointed him as his chief of staff. A 'political street fighter'; an 'attack dog, warrior, political gangster'; Rahmbo - 'a polarizing political figure, who plays hardball politics'. Sounds like a bit of a softie.
Jeffrey Goldberg presents him in a more two-sided way: 'I've known Rahm for a long time, and he's yelled at me for no good reason on many occasions. This, of course, is the way he expresses affection.' Goldberg goes on to talk about the Israel dimension of his appointment. (Thanks: MH.)
