I'm glad to be able to agree with a Guardian editorial today, or rather to see the Guardian agreeing with me, in calling for the BBC to prosecute prominent licence fee rebels. As a matter of fact, now that its policy of selective non-prosecution has become known, the Beeb can scarcely do otherwise. Because if it doesn't prosecute such people it will soon have to face a new and growing class of non-payers: people challenging it to show a reason why some may not pay while the rest of us must. This is a challenge the BBC will be unable to answer satisfactorily.
