One shouldn't laugh, I know; it's a serious matter. But it's hard not to when it's expressed like this:
Potential terrorists should be sent to rehabilitation centres and deradicalised by exposure to intense and substantial periods of genuine piety, Britain's first counter-extremism thinktank said yesterday.- Argghhh... I've been exposed to an intense and substantial period of genuine piety. Let me outa here.
- Poor you. I didn't find it so bad. I was exposed to genuine piety, but the period during which it happened wasn't intense. It was rather laid back, in fact.
- My experience was different from both of yours. Intense the period most certainly was, but the piety wasn't genuine. It was bogus, you could see; they were laying it on for me especially.
- Piety?! Damn, I thought it was pie and tea I was to be exposed to.
