Yup, it looks like déjà vu all over again. This piece by Peter Taylor makes much the same moves I examined two days ago. The same causal link, from the Iraq war to the terrorist threat. The same failure to address the point that from the evidence - cited by Taylor himself - it's not just Iraq, it's also Afghanistan and more generally American foreign policy that are implicated. The same failure, as in the case of David Clark and Inayat Bunglawala, to say upfront and clearly that this anger over foreign policy should be appeased, when it's hard to see what other reading of the argument is available. With him as with the two of them, the same response applies.
