Uses of normblog

Yesterday I received an email under this title. It said:

There I was on the last day of the Test and the computer protocols at work don't allow staff to check the cricket scores. Were England winning or was Pakistan about to achieve a famous victory?

Then normblog appears again in the afternoon. My reasoning runs: 1) if Norm is posting then the cricket must have finished; 2) if Pakistan have won it would have required some phenomenal batting to have done so by mid-afternoon; 3) if the batting had been that good, Norm would post about it; 4) Norm has not posted on cricket, therefore England have won.

Impeccable reasoning to a valid conclusion. And yet I do sometimes not post for other reasons, you know.
