On Kazuo Ishiguro and Never Let Me Go, a reader emails:
I am reminded of a story the late Isaac Asimov related about himself. Seems he was going somewhere when he came upon a church sign announcing a sermon that day using one of his stories. Intrigued, he parked and went in.(Thanks: AK.)Being a courteous man (good upbringing) he listened attentively, but what he heard bothered him. So when the sermon was done he rose to his feet and said, "But that's not what it means." (Or words like that - it's been a while.)
The preacher looked at him and asked, "And who would you be?"
Isaac replied, "My name is Isaac Asimov, and I wrote that story."
The preacher then asked, "Have you read it?"
