I guess I should do my bit towards publicizing the efforts of those claiming they want to 'stop the war'. Abandoning the Iraqi people to the tender attentions of political forces not notably wedded to democracy and human rights might better describe their objectives. Still, no need to be curmudgeonly. Here (via the Drunken Trots) is an account of a modest-sized demo in Arizona, involving two protesters. There's no shame in that, of course. One should admire them for going ahead because of what they believe in, and despite the mere two-ness of their number. Note, however, what they do believe. As one of them expresses it:
[P]ulling troops out of Iraq would force Iraqis to work together in building a society.Or perhaps not. Then, see some of the explanations at Tim Blair's as to why many from the 'Abandon Iraq' movement failed to turn up to an Abandon Iraq rally in California. I make it a tie between 'baking' and 'forgetting' for the top excuse slot.
