Talking about taking offence... after returning yesterday from our nearest branch of Tesco, WotN told me that they are no longer stocking these. Now, round and about normblog, or to put it differently, in this household, matzos are a staple item. Not just at Passover, but the year round. I don't need an argument for that, I just like them - plain, with butter, with cheese, with marmite, with jam, with peanut butter, etc.
So, what ya gonna do? Ridiculous is the reason Tesco in Didsbury are giving out for this new dearth on their shelves. When she asked about it, WotN was informed that 'Those are only being stocked in the Prestwich branch now'. (Prestwich is the home of Manchester's Orthodox Jewish community.) I have to walk several miles to Prestwich? Become Orthodox? Shop on the Internet? It's an affront to secular Jews and other Mancunians living far from Prestwich and who happen to enjoy matzo. I shall have a word to say. [You just said it - Ed.]
