Youngsters read no further. Some time ago I posted this tale about the behaviour patterns that can overtake people of mature years, so that they spend a lot of time getting very little done. After a couple of recent experiences ('couple', here, being the appropriate word), I wish to add the following to the list of senior inefficiencies. It is making absolutely sure to do something which you find you've already done and only moments ago - so discovering, for example, that when you put the handkerchief in your pocket there's already one there; or that you can't pack, or indeed find, your mobes before leaving the house because you just packed it.
