Sarah says I gotta to do it, so I gotta.
1) Total number of books I've owned: This is very rough, but I know I have nearly 2,500 books on cricket, and I'd say there's the same number again in the rest of the house on all other subjects. Allowing for books got rid of over the years, I'll go for between 5,500 and 6,000.
2) The last book I bought: Wisden Cricketers' Almanack 2005.
3) The last book I read: Sybille Steinbacher, Auschwitz: A History.
4) Five books that mean a lot to me (in no particular order): So as not to cover the same ground as I've already covered here, I'll do fiction: in the order I first read them: Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte; Runyon on Broadway, a collection of Damon Runyon's stories; More Than Human by Theodore Sturgeon; Crime and Punishment by Fyodor Dostoyevsky; and Blindness by Jose Saramago.
5) Tag five people and have them fill this out on their blogs: John; Ophelia; Emily; Tom; Natalie.
