The UN tackles anti-Semitism, as Anne Bayefsky details here. They do so with a report containing the following lines:
The genuine Zionism of many Jews helps to explain the fact that many people wrongly feel that most Jews lend their unconditional support to Israeli policies. That is why we have seen attacks on synagogues, arson attacks on schools, desecration of cemeteries, for reasons that have nothing to do either with religion, or education, or the peaceful rest of the deceased, but that have a great deal to do with a political and a territorial conflict...Do also read the rest. As Bayefsky concludes, 'Simply put, Jews are responsible for anti-Semitism'.
Meanwhile, back in the real world:
Moshe Yitzhak Na'eh, who was shot in the head overnight Wednesday in Antwerp in what seems to be an anti-Semitic attack, died of his wounds late Thursday afternoon, Belgium's Prosecutors office announced. And:Prosecutor's spokeswoman Dominique Reniers said, "We do not exclude any motive, but so far there are no indications that the motive was racist or extremist," she said.
.....
Belgian federal police are investigating the incident, which seems to be a hate crime, as Na'eh's money was not stolen and he was not involved in any criminal deeds. [Also here.]
London (Reuters) - Vandals have sprayed swastikas and other Nazi insignia on 15 gravestones at a Jewish cemetery in southern England, police say. And:They said the anti-Semitic graffiti had appeared on the gravestones in Aldershot, Hampshire, over the past month.

(IsraelNN.com) Two weeks after the first commemoration of the Holocaust Day in Romania, Prof. Ion Coja of Bucharest University denied Romanian participation in the Holocaust, according to the Center for Monitoring and Combating Anti-Semitism in Romania. And still there are some people more concerned that fears about anti-Semitism may be exaggerated than they are about anti-Semitism itself. (Hat tip: J - and Mark for the Aldershot story.)In a talk show on national TV on October 25, Coja, who also heads the Foundation for Combating the anti-Romanian movement, was given a full hour to present his thesis: The Holocaust of the Romanian Jewry is something that never happened.
