Operation Iraqi Children

An initiative on behalf of Iraqi schoolchildren:

Actor Gary Sinise, who has appeared in films such as Forrest Gump and Apollo 13, has launched a campaign to help raise money for Iraqi schools.

Sinise, who recently visited an Iraqi school while on a trip to the country, said the campaign was a "non-partisan, non-political issue".

"Whether you are for the war or against the war, that's not the point here," he said at the Kansas City launch.

Money raised would buy much-need[ed] school stationery for Iraqi children.
