The Mancept PhD Blog is hosting a discussion of my friend Jonathan Quong's book, Liberalism Without Perfection. It's an online reading group, in which periodically a member of Mancept (the Manchester Centre for Political Theory) will write about one chapter from Jon's book, giving a brief summary and raising questions for discussion. The first instalment, by Joe Horton, is now posted. Joe's question: 'what exactly does Quong mean by public justification, and how exactly does this idea figure in the internal conception of political liberalism that he recommends to us?'
