I've been disagreeing with Oliver about this for ages, but that's no reason to stop doing so. In a tweet from a few minutes ago, he writes:
I note smugly that Wikipedia is rubbish. First sentence of List of Archbishops of Canterbury declares that he's head of Church of England.
Whether or not Wikipedia is rubbish, that can't be established by pointing to a piece of misinformation. Yehudi Menuhin would not have been rubbish just because he once played a wrong note. Dickens would not have been rubbish if he wrote a bad passage - or bad book - or two. Even if there are a lot of mistakes on Wikipedia, it won't show it's rubbish. There's a huge amount of accurate information there, and it's a convenient way of quickly checking things. Bad argument, Oliver. And losing battle.
