The tree was planted in the Polish village of Jaslo 67 years ago to honour Hitler's birthday. The mayor of Jaslo wants the tree cut down. That was my first impulse: why, I thought, have they waited so long? But a local historian asks, what has the tree done wrong? Opinion in the village is divided.
