Late last month I commented on a post by Raymond Tallis that discussed, among other things, deflationary accounts of truth. Erudito now has a longer comment, challenging the claim that to assert that 'p' and to assert that 'p is true' is to assert the same thing.
This seems to me [he writes] to be clearly false. To assert 'p' is to assert that the world is a certain way. To assert that 'p is true' is to assert that a particular proposition accurately captures how the world is.
