Booker vote
As signalled here a few days ago, Scott Pack is running a poll for 'The Best Of The Rest Of The Booker'. You can now vote on the shortlist of 10 titles. The point I was going to make about the problem with Scott's poll (not that I have any room to talk) has already been made by Marie Phillips in the comments: 'you can only vote for books you have read, which means that the big sellers tend to get the nod over other books which may be of higher quality'. I was voting between John McGahern's Amongst Women, Ian McEwan's Atonement and Kazuo Ishiguro's Never Let Me Go, and went for the first of them - by a country mile.
