With respect to beliefs

Here's the sort of thing that can happen when you feel obliged to respect beliefs and not merely the persons who hold them. You can find yourself withdrawing a report because it goes against the belief that what scientists have concluded is 'a natural formation of sand and stones' was in fact built by a god and an army of monkeys.
