No, that's not the worry that Madeleine Bunting, Jonathan Steele or A.L. Kennedy will be staring out at you from the comments pages of the Dragunia next time you open it. It's a genuine complaint: coulrophobia. As instanced here:

A rock festival has been forced to drop its circus theme because many ticket-holders are scared of clowns.
