Shifting the blame

Since Friday morning I've not been well-placed to blog. Neither have I been so cut off as to miss the sickening apologetic tripe that began on day one with the SWP and the little hero of Washington, and then started to spread across the pages of the Guardian the following morning, as everyone who reads that newspaper regularly and has seen what has become of it knew was inevitable.

Today read Nick Cohen in The Observer:

On Thursday, before the police had made one arrest, before one terrorist group had claimed responsibility, before one body had been carried from the wreckage, let alone been identified and allowed to rest in peace, cocksure voices filled with righteousness were proclaiming that the real murderers weren't the real murderers but the Prime Minister.
