Oddest news stories of 2004

The Boston Globe has a round-up of the oddest of the odd stories of 2004. It's offering a top 25 of them. I'll pass over number 1 as being too painful to contemplate. More readably sedate are number 2 (Random act of kindness repayed 70 years later) and number 15 (Man learns he's dead, thanks to blind ex-wife). Then there's this one:

A Polish taxpayer died from a heart attack after a demand for immediate payment in full of 80,000 zlotys ($23,560) following a mistake by the tax office.

The government expressed regret over the incident.
